Push and hold the switch while the vehicle is stopped to turn off TRAC and VSC. The TRAC OFF indicator light and VSC off indicator light should come on. Push the switch again to turn the system back on.
If the vehicle is in danger of slipping or if any of the drive wheels spins, the slip indicator light flashes to indicate that the VSC/TRAC systems are operating. Depending on the vehicle, a buzzer (intermittent) may sound to indicate that VSC is operating.
Vehicles with a smart key system:
The indicator light flashes after the ENGINE START STOP switch has been turned off to indicate that the system is operating. The indicator light stops flashing after the ENGINE START STOP switch has been turned to ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode to indicate that the system has been canceled.
Vehicles without a smart key system
The indicator light flashes after the key has been removed from the engine switch to indicate that the system is operating. The indicator light stops flashing after the registered key has been inserted into the engine switch to indicate that the system has been canceled.
Indicates that maintenance is required according to the driven distance on the maintenance schedule.
Indicates a low level of washer fluid.
Indicates that the right or left turn signal has been activated.
- To disable TRAC and/or VSC
If the vehicle gets stuck in fresh snow or mud, TRAC and VSC may reduce power from the engine to the wheels. You may need to turn the system off to enable you to rock the vehicle in order to free it.
Quickly push and release the switch to turn off TRAC. The TRAC OFF indicator light should come on. Push the switch again to turn the system back on.
Indicates low tire inflation pressure.
Indicates a malfunction in:
- The SRS airbag system;
- The front passenger occupant classification system; or
- The seatbelt pretensioner system.
Your vehicle is equipped with a front passenger occupant classification system. This system detects the conditions of the front passenger seat and activates or deactivates the devices for front passenger. The AIR BAG ON or AIR BAG OFF light illuminates to keep the driver/front passenger advised of the system’s status.
Indicates a low fuel level. (Amount remaining depends on vehicle; consult your Owner's Manual for more details.)
Indicates that the engine oil pressure is too low.
Indicates that the side marker, parking, tail, license plate, instrument panel and headlights have been turned on.
Indicates that the high beam headlights have been switched on.
Indicates a malfunction in:
- ABS; or
- The Brake Assist system.
Indicates a malfunction in the vehicle's charging system.
Indicates that cruise control has been activated.

Indicates a malfunction in the EPS system.
